OUR LAYING HENS
We feed our chickens quality chicken feed and supplement their diet with lots of greens from our garden. In the Winter months we provide Natural Harvest Non-GMO Poultry Feed. In the Summer months, we are able to provide a fantastic organic poultry feed from Country Junction sourced right here in Alberta.
Our chickens are spoiled with a heated coop for the cold winter months and a large fenced-in run. In the warmer months, our birds are allowed to free-range all over our farm.
We currently have a variety of egg colours including blue, green, white, light brown, and dark brown. Our egg cartons are like little rainbows!

COOP
Built from scratch in Spring 2020, our coop is big enough to comfortably fit 30 laying hens all Winter. The coop is fully insulated and heated for those cold winter days. We also have a solar-powered fan to make the hot summer days more bearable.
We have plans to double our coop size in 2021 and the construction is currently underway!
CHICKEN TRACTOR
We built this chicken tractor for our broiler chicks in 2020. They stayed in here from 3-5 weeks old while transitioning out of the brooder into the great outdoors.
Now in 2021, we are using this chicken tractor to transition our laying chicks outdoors once they have outgrown their brooder. We are doing multiple hatches of laying chicks this year so this tractor will see lots of action through the summer.
The chicken tractor is built to be able to be moved onto fresh grass every couple of days. We also built an enclosed area in the top so we can install a heat lamp and use it as a brooder/tractor combined.
