MINIATURE SCHNAUZERS

Jordan and Devon Jubb started their journey of breeding miniature schnauzers in 2018 after inheriting the business and animals of Jordan’s late mother Rosemarie Poynter-Jubb. Rosemarie had been breeding since 1990 under the name Showtyme Miniatures.

Showdown Stables is taking a short hiatus from breeding miniature schnauzers while we pursue new bloodlines to bring into the program. We plan to start breeding again in 2023.

Miniature Schnauzer Breed Basics

Showdown Stables strives to produce top quality dogs that meet breed standard in every way without sacrificing health, temperament, or intelligence.

Disclaimer: Showtyme Miniatures and early litters from Showdown Stables included dogs that did not fully meet the breed standard criteria. As a breeding program, we have made the decision no longer breed ‘Parti’ coloured puppies.

CROPPING – Showdown Stables does not offer puppies with cropped ears.
DOCKING – Showdown Stables docks tails at 2 days old.

Is a Miniature Schnauzer Right for You?

Prior to deciding which breed of dog to bring into your family, we encourage future puppy families to do extensive research. Each breed has its own pros and cons, temperament, and common health issues. DO NOT purchase a puppy solely because it is cute and you just like the way it looks, puppy buyers purchasing dogs without considering their temperament is one of the top reasons that dogs end up in shelters. A responsible breeder will do their best to only place puppies into homes that understand the breed, that is why we ask that puppy buyers fill out our in-depth questionnaire as a first step.

Miniature Schnauzers are a “lucky” breed in this respect. Unlike some other breeds (i.e. malinois, herding breeds, german shepherds, bully breeds, etc.) miniature schnauzers are amazingly adaptable and can thrive in most environments. They are good with both kids and seniors, they love city life and farm life, and their compact size allows for lots of adaptability in living/traveling. Mini Schnauzers are very intelligent and enjoy learning and pleasing their owner. They can excel in sporting and competition events as well as being couch potatoes. We do our best to interview and select families that will be a good lifestyle match for the breed.

There are plenty of dog breed quizzes that will help match you and your family to a breed suited for your lifestyle. The AKC has a short simple quiz that can help to get you started.
