SCHNAUZERS FOR SALE

PUPPIES FOR SALE

Showdown Stables will NEVER have puppies available for sale on our website.

We only breed when we have a specific goal in mind for that mating, prior to breeding we also ensure that we have homes available for all of the puppies. Because of many factors, we do not have a set number of litters that we breed each year.

Our puppies are placed exclusively into homes that have completed our Puppy Adoption Application and have been interviewed and deemed suitable.

HOW TO PURCHASE

A WARNING

Beware of websites, Facebook pages, and Kijiji ads that claim to have puppies ready to go right away. This is a major red flag.

There could be a number of reasons that a puppy is ready to go immediately. None of them are good:

  1. The “breeder” is producing multiple litters at one time and/or always has a constant cycle of litters on the go.
  2. The “breeder” does not keep a waiting list and does not interview potential homes for suitability. (i.e. sells to whoever has money)
  3. It is a complete scam using images found on google and often requiring a large ‘deposit’ to purchase the puppy before they even speak to you.
  4. It is a puppy importer who has imported the puppy from an undisclosed country, often the seller is not the breeder and claims to be selling for a ‘friend’.

Puppy Pity-Purchase

For the protection of our dogs and the breeds we love it is extremely important for the puppy buyer to educate themselves on what a good breeder looks like and how to avoid scams, puppy mills, and backyard breeders. Do not Pity-Purchase a puppy from one of these situations as that only encourages these people to keep doing what they are doing. Instead, we need more people purchasing from responsible and ethical breeders to support the health and longevity of our breeds.

There are many resources available online to help determine if a breeder is ethical and responsible. There are groups on Facebook and TikTok accounts that are dedicated to reviewing breeders. Please do not hesitate to reach out to us to ask questions or inquire about responsible breeding practices either in our program or in another program you would like input on.
